Castrol Brayco Micronic SBF ES

Castrol Brayco Micronic SBF ES

Product description

Castrol Brayco Micronic SBF ES is an environmentally leading barrier fluid specifically formulated using highly refined base oil for use in subsea rotating equipment. The fluid is specifically formulated to incorporate all the features required for reliable operation of high speed subsea wet gas compressors and subsea pumps running under continuous duty cycle in the demanding subsea environment. This product has also been developed to provide electrical insulation and cooling of high power electric motors. It provides operators with an environmental alternative to conventional subsea barrier fluids, being fully assessed against North Sea OSPAR legislation.

Castrol Brayco Micronic SBF ES has been developed under a Quality Managment System with ISO 9001:2015 Certification and an Environemtnal Managment System with ISO 14001:2004 Certification for Research and Development

Advantages

  • All components tested in accordance with OSPAR environmental legislation.
  • Environmental testing has been completed for compliance in other geographies.
  • Electrical insulation properties provide additional protection to shorting in high power motors.
  • Good lubrication performance in radial and axial bearings and seals systems.
  • Low viscosity prevents shear and heat generation in high speed machinery.
  • Compatible with a wide range of materials commonly used in subsea systems and pumps.
  • Maintains corrosion performance, even with sea water contamination.
  • Fully compatible and miscible in all proportions with other products in the Castrol Brayco Micronic range.
  • Fully compatible and miscible in all proportions with typical mineral oil based products, allowing easy upgrade of existing systems by top-up.

Application

Specifically formulated for use in subsea rotating equipment.

Electrical insulation properties ensure suitability for internal cooling of high voltage electric motors.

Provides a barrier against seawater ingress and process fluid ingress into system hardware.

Low pour point ensures operation down to -30ºC (-22ºF) in areas where low ambient temperatures prevail.
