Castrol Brayco Micronic SBF HT

Castrol Brayco Micronic SBF HT

Product description

Castrol Brayco Micronic™ SBF HT is a subsea barrier fluid formulated using highly refined base oil for use in subsea processing equipment. The fluid incorporates all the features required for reliable operation of high speed, high temperature rotating equipment in the demanding subsea environment.

Castrol Brayco Micronic™ SBF HT is fully compliant with OSPAR environmental legislation and does not contain any substitutable components. Environmental testing has been completed for other geographies.

Castrol Brayco Micronic™ SBF HT has been developed and qualified under a Quality Management system with ISO 9001:2000 Certification and an Environmental Management System with ISO 14001:2004 Certification for Research and Development.

Advantages

  • Low viscosity helps reduce shear and heat generation under high speed close clearance elements potentially leading to reduced power losses and extended equipment life.
  • Provides increased system robustness by protecting from corrosion under upset conditions such as seawater contamination leading to extended equipment life and reduced maintenance.
  • Compliance with OSPAR legislation limiting impact on the marine environment. Provides Operators with an environmental alternative to conventional subsea barrier fluids
  • Compatible with all materials commonly used in subsea boosting pumps and water injection systems.
  • Product supplied pre-filtered to meet typical subsea cleanliness requirements at point of fill, i.e. SAE AS4059(F) Class 6 or better.

Approval Status

Castrol Brayco Micronic™ SBF HT is approved for operation in subsea boosting and water injection pumps with process exposure up to 154ºC.

Application

Designed for use in conventional and high pressure, high temperature subsea processing applications.

Specifically formulated for use in subsea boosting and water injection pumps incorporating radial or axial bearings, and in seal oil systems.

Electrical insulation properties make it suitable for internal cooling of high voltage electric motors.

Provides a barrier against seawater ingress and process fluid ingress into system hardware.

Low pour point ensures operation down to -40ºC (-40ºF) in areas where low ambient temperatures prevail.
